– 4 thick slices of bread (brioche or challah recommended)
– 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
– 2 large eggs
– 1/2 cup milk
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
– 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
– 1 tbsp granulated sugar
– 2 tbsp butter (for frying)
– Maple syrup (for serving)

1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and granulated sugar.
