For the Cookies:
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
For the Glaze (optional):
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tsp milk or cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat & Prep:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Mix Wet Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar until smooth and light in color.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Incorporate Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep cookies tender.

Shape & Bake:
- Scoop the dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may appear soft but will set as they cool.
- Remove from the oven and let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk (or cream), and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle or spread the glaze over the cooled cookies. Allow the glaze to set before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
