Description

These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups are a fun and delicious twist on classic French toast! Soft, buttery bread is rolled with cinnamon sugar, dipped in a rich egg mixture, and pan-fried to golden perfection. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Roll-Ups:

6 slices of sandwich bread (white or whole wheat, crusts removed)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Egg Mixture:

2 large eggs

1/4 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Cooking:

2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for frying)

Optional Toppings:

Powdered sugar

Maple syrup

Whipped cream

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Bread Rolls
  • Flatten each slice of bread using a rolling pin to create a thin, even surface.
  • In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  • Spread a thin layer of softened butter over one side of each bread slice, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Roll the bread tightly into a log shape and set aside.
  • Step 2: Make the Egg Mixture
. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Step 3: Coat the Roll-Ups
. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
. Dip each bread roll into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated but not overly soaked.
  • Step 4: Cook the Roll-Ups
. Place the coated rolls into the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.
. Work in batches if necessary, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.
  • Step 5: Serve
. Transfer the cooked roll-ups to a serving plate.
. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup for a sweet finish.
. Add whipped cream if desired for an extra indulgent touch.

Notes

Use brioche or challah bread for an even richer flavor.

Substitute almond milk for regular milk to make it dairy-free.

Serve with a side of fresh berries for added freshness.
