This Crockpot Bread recipe creates a soft, fluffy loaf without needing to heat up your oven. Perfect for busy days when you want fresh bread with minimal effort!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water (about 110°F/45°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional for flavor)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture.
  • Stir the dough until it forms a sticky ball. If it’s too dry, add a little more water, one tablespoon at a time.
  • Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  • Grease the Crockpot with a little olive oil. Place the dough into the Crockpot and cover with a clean towel. Let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Once the dough has risen, set the Crockpot to low and cook for 2-2.5 hours, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the top.
  • Let the bread cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can add herbs, such as rosemary or thyme, for added flavor.
  • For a crispy crust, you can place the bread under the broiler for 1-2 minutes after baking.
  • Be sure to check the bread’s doneness by tapping it – it should sound hollow when fully cooked.
