- 1 cup dill pickle brine (from a jar of dill pickles)
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot or your favorite)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill (optional for extra dill flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for more heat)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the dill pickle brine, white vinegar, hot sauce, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Remove from heat and stir in the fresh dill (if using).
- Let the sauce cool to room temperature, then pour into a bottle or jar.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Shake well before using.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of hot sauce and cayenne pepper to suit your spice preference.
- For a smoother sauce, you can blend the ingredients after simmering for a few seconds.
- This sauce works wonderfully as a topping for fries, wings, and burgers or as a dipping sauce.
