Easy Cherry Chocolate Chip Poke Cake Delight is a decadent, moist chocolate cake topped with sweet cherry filling, chocolate chips, and whipped cream. It’s an irresistible dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 1/2 cup (120g) vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup (90g) mini chocolate chips
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 tbsp chocolate syrup (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions, using water, vegetable oil, and eggs.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Once the cake is baked, allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes, then use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
  5. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the top of the cake, letting it settle into the holes.
  6. Sprinkle mini chocolate chips over the top of the cake.
  7. Top the cake with whipped topping, spreading it evenly to cover the entire surface.
  8. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  9. Drizzle with chocolate syrup before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of mini chips.
  • Feel free to use other fruit fillings, like blueberry or strawberry, for a variation.
  • The cake can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator for better flavor.
