Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/4 cup Long Grain Rice, uncooked
  • 14.5 oz can Beef Broth
  • 10.5 oz can French Onion Soup
  • 1 stick of Butter, cold
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the uncooked rice evenly in an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the Flavors: Pour the beef broth over the rice, followed by the French onion soup, ensuring even distribution.
  3. Add the Butter: Slice the cold butter into pats and place them evenly over the rice and soup mixture.
  4. Bake Covered: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Finish Baking: Remove the foil, return the dish to the oven, and bake for another 25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and golden brown.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Rice Choice: Use long-grain white rice like Jasmine or Basmati for the best texture. Avoid instant rice.
  • Flavor Boost: Add sautéed onions or mushrooms for extra depth.
  • Protein Add-ins: Mix in cooked chicken, beef, or sausage to turn it into a complete meal.
  • Make it Cheesy: Stir in Parmesan or Gruyère cheese before baking for a cheesy touch.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of broth to keep it moist.
