Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, these Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a decadent treat. Golden-fried bread encases a luscious strawberry cheesecake filling, making them perfect for a sweet breakfast or dessert.
– 8 slices of white bread
– 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
– 2 tbsp powdered sugar
– 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
– 1/2 cup strawberry jam
– 1 egg
– 1/4 cup milk
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/2 tsp cinnamon
– Oil for frying
– Powdered sugar (for dusting)
1. Flatten each slice of bread using a rolling pin.
2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
3. Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture on half of the bread slices.
4. Add a spoonful of strawberry jam on top of the cream cheese layer.
5. Cover with the remaining bread slices and press the edges to seal.
6. In a bowl, whisk together egg and milk.
7. In separate bowls, place flour in one and mix breadcrumbs with cinnamon in another.
8. Dip each sandwich in flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
9. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry sandwiches until golden brown on both sides.
10. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
– For extra crispiness, double-coat the sandwiches by repeating the breading process.
– Serve with whipped cream or fresh strawberries for added flavor.
– Best enjoyed warm for a gooey cheesecake filling.
