Description

These quick and easy Garlic Texas Toast Pizzas are the perfect weeknight dinner or fun snack! Toasted garlic bread is topped with pizza sauce, Italian sausage, melted mozzarella, and pepperoni for a delicious twist on classic pizza. Ready in under 20 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 lb Italian sausage

1 box frozen garlic Texas Toast (8 slices)

14 oz jar pizza sauce (slightly warmed, divided use)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (more or less to taste)

24 pepperoni slices

1 tbsp dried parsley (optional)

1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the Sausage:
  • Cook and crumble the Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
  • Prepare the Texas Toast:
  • Preheat the oven to the temperature specified on the Texas Toast box.
  • Place the Texas Toast slices on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  • Cook the toast according to the package directions, flipping halfway through to toast both sides (about 7-9 minutes). Remove from the oven.
  • Assemble the Pizzas:
  • Spread about 1 tbsp of warmed pizza sauce on each slice of toasted garlic bread.
  • Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the sauce.
  • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese (divided evenly among the slices).
  • Add 3 pepperoni slices to each pizza.
  • Bake:
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish and Serve:
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with dried parsley and red pepper flakes (optional).
  • Serve with the remaining warmed pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

Substitute ground beef, turkey, or plant-based sausage for the Italian sausage.

Add your favorite toppings like mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers.

For a spicier kick, use spicy Italian sausage or add extra red pepper flakes.
