Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch (or 9×9-inch) baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.
  • Mix dry ingredients: In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Combine: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Add chocolate chips (optional) and fold them into the batter.
  • Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Cool & Serve: Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake them (about 28-30 minutes).
  • You can add chopped nuts or swirl in peanut butter for a twist.
  • Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
