Kentucky Hot Brown Sliders are a twist on the classic Hot Brown sandwich, a Kentucky favorite. These sliders are made with turkey, bacon, cheese, and a rich Mornay sauce, all served on soft slider buns. They’re perfect for parties, gatherings, or a deliciously comforting meal.

Ingredients

– 12 slider buns

– 2 cups cooked turkey, sliced

– 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

– 1/2 cup heavy cream

– 1/2 cup milk

– 3 tbsp butter

– 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

– 1/4 tsp garlic powder

– 1/4 tsp onion powder

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

– 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

– Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Place the slider buns on a baking sheet, and layer the bottom half with turkey slices.

3. Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top of the turkey.

4. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until smooth.

5. Slowly add the milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

6. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook the sauce for about 5 minutes until it thickens.

7. Remove from heat and stir in the Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce.

8. Pour the sauce over the turkey and bacon layers on the buns.

9. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top of the sauce.

10. Place the top half of the buns on the sliders and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

11. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

– You can use leftover turkey for this recipe, making it a great post-Thanksgiving meal.

– For a spicier version, add a bit of cayenne pepper to the sauce.

– These sliders are best served warm out of the oven.
