A delicious, loaded appetizer combining crispy fries with melted cheese and your favorite toppings. Perfect for snacking or as a side dish, these nacho fries are a fun twist on classic nachos.
– 1 lb frozen crinkle-cut French fries (Ore-Ida Extra Crispy Frozen Fast Food Fries)
– 1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt
– 1/2 lb lean ground beef
– 1/2 medium onion, finely diced
– 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
– 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
– 1/2 red bell pepper, finely chopped
– 2 green onions, sliced
– 1 jalapeño, sliced (optional)
– Salsa and sour cream for garnish
1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
2. Toss fries with seasoning salt and a teaspoon of vegetable oil (if needed).
3. Place fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 10 minutes.
4. Shake the basket, then cook for an additional 3 minutes until extra crisp.
5. Meanwhile, cook ground beef and diced onion in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Stir in taco seasoning.
6. Top the cooked fries with a layer of shredded cheddar cheese, then add the beef mixture and red bell peppers.
7. Return the fries to the air fryer for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
8. Remove from the air fryer and garnish with green onions, jalapeños (if using), salsa, and sour cream.
