A deliciously rich and chewy no-bake slice made with treacle, nuts, and a buttery biscuit base. This treat is perfect for those who love a combination of sweetness and crunch, with deep caramel flavors from the treacle.

Ingredients

  • 200g digestive biscuits, crushed
  • 100g unsalted butter, melted
  • 100g golden syrup
  • 2 tablespoons black treacle
  • 50g brown sugar
  • 100g mixed nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts), roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100g dark chocolate (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the crushed digestive biscuits with the melted butter until well combined.
  • Press the mixture into the base of a lined baking tin and set aside.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt the golden syrup, black treacle, and brown sugar until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Add the chopped nuts to the mixture and stir well.
  • Pour the treacle and nut mixture over the biscuit base, spreading it evenly.
  • If using chocolate, melt it and drizzle over the top for extra flavor.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.
  • Slice into squares and enjoy!
