Ingredients

**For the Crust:**

– 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix

– 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted

– 1 large egg

**For the Filling:**

– 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened

– 2 large eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 3 1/2 cups (450g) powdered sugar

– 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

1. **Preheat oven:**

– Set the oven to 350°F (175°C).

– Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

2. **Prepare the crust:**

– In a bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until well combined.

– Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

3. **Make the filling:**

– In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.

– Add eggs and vanilla extract, then mix until fully incorporated.

– Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue mixing until smooth.

– Pour in the melted butter and mix until well combined.

4. **Assemble and bake:**

– Pour the filling over the crust and spread evenly.

– Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown but the center is still slightly gooey.

5. **Cool and serve:**

– Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares.

– Enjoy as is or dust with extra powdered sugar!

Notes

– Don’t overbake! The center should be slightly jiggly for the best gooey texture.

– For extra flavor, mix in chocolate chips, pecans, or coconut into the filling.

– Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.

– Serve warm for an extra gooey experience!
