This Oven-Roasted Shrimp Cocktail with Old Bay is a flavorful twist on the classic appetizer. Roasting the shrimp enhances their natural sweetness while the Old Bay seasoning adds a bold, slightly spicy kick. Served with a tangy homemade cocktail sauce, this dish is perfect for any gathering or special occasion.

 

Ingredients

– 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on)

– 1 tbsp olive oil

– 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning

– 1/2 tsp garlic powder

– 1/2 tsp paprika

– 1/2 tsp salt

– 1/4 tsp black pepper

– Lemon wedges, for serving

**For the Cocktail Sauce:**

– 1/2 cup ketchup

– 2 tbsp prepared horseradish

– 1 tbsp lemon juice

– 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

– 1/2 tsp hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. In a mixing bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

3. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4. Roast for 8-10 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

5. While the shrimp are roasting, mix all the cocktail sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.

6. Remove the shrimp from the oven and let them cool slightly.

7. Serve warm or chilled with lemon wedges and cocktail sauce on the side.

 

Notes

– For extra flavor, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp before serving.

– If you prefer a spicier kick, add more hot sauce to the cocktail sauce.

– You can prepare the shrimp ahead of time and serve them chilled for a refreshing appetizer.
