A fun, dog-friendly pizza featuring a wholesome, baked crust topped with a light layer of unsweetened applesauce, natural peanut butter, and fresh apple slices. This unique treat is made with dog-safe ingredients and is perfect as an occasional snack for your furry friend.

Ingredients

*For the Crust:*

– 1 cup whole wheat flour

– 1/2 cup rolled oats

– 1 egg

– 1/3 cup water (adjust as needed)

– 1 tsp olive oil

*For the Toppings:*

– 1/4 cup natural, xylitol-free peanut butter

– 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

– 1 apple, cored and thinly sliced (remove all seeds)

– Optional: A sprinkle of finely chopped carrots or dog-safe herbs (such as parsley) for garnish

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, rolled oats, egg, water, and olive oil. Stir until a cohesive dough forms.

3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to form a small pizza base. Transfer it to a parchment-lined baking sheet.

4. Bake the crust for 10 minutes to firm it up.

5. Remove the crust from the oven and let it cool slightly.

6. Spread a thin, even layer of unsweetened applesauce over the partially baked crust.

7. Drizzle natural peanut butter over the applesauce layer.

8. Arrange the apple slices evenly on top. Optionally, sprinkle a little chopped carrot or parsley for extra flair.

9. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the toppings are warmed through and the apple slices soften slightly.

10. Allow the pizza to cool completely before cutting it into small, bite-sized pieces appropriate for your dog.

Notes

– Ensure the peanut butter is xylitol-free, as xylitol is toxic to dogs.

– Always remove apple seeds and core the apple before slicing.

– This treat is designed as an occasional snack—consult your veterinarian regarding appropriate portion sizes based on your dog’s diet.
