Description

A decadent trifle that combines tender, fudgy brownie cubes with a rich raspberry fudge sauce and layers of whipped cream. Each spoonful offers the perfect balance of deep chocolate flavor and tart raspberry brightness, making it an ideal show-stopping dessert for parties or special occasions.

Ingredients

For the Brownies:
• 1 box fudgy brownie mix (or use your favorite homemade brownie recipe)
• Ingredients required by the mix (typically eggs, oil, water)

For the Raspberry Fudge:
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 200g dark chocolate, chopped
• 1/2 cup raspberry puree (blend fresh or frozen raspberries with a splash of water)
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

For the Trifle Layers:
• 2 cups whipped cream (or your preferred whipped topping)
• 1 cup fresh raspberries (plus extra for garnish)
• Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate shavings or curls

Instructions

  • Bake the Brownies:

    • Prepare and bake the brownies according to the package or your recipe’s instructions in a 9×9-inch pan.
    • Allow them to cool completely, then cut into evenly sized cubes.
  • Prepare the Raspberry Fudge:

    • In a small saucepan, bring the heavy cream to a simmer over medium heat.
    • Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate, butter, and raspberry puree. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Let the fudge cool until it’s slightly thickened but still pourable.
  • Assemble the Trifle:

    • In a large glass trifle bowl or individual serving glasses, begin with a layer of brownie cubes at the bottom.
    • Drizzle a generous layer of raspberry fudge over the brownies.
    • Spoon a layer of whipped cream over the fudge, then scatter a portion of fresh raspberries on top.
    • Repeat the layers until all components are used, finishing with a top layer of whipped cream.
    • Garnish with extra raspberries and, if desired, a sprinkling of chocolate shavings.
  • Chill and Serve:

    • Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the fudge to set.
    • Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

For added texture, you may fold in a layer of crushed cookies or chopped nuts between layers.
• Ensure the raspberry fudge is cool but still pourable to prevent the brownie layer from becoming soggy.
• This trifle can be assembled a few hours ahead; just keep it chilled until serving.
