Perfect for special occasions, as a garnish for desserts, or as a fun snack, they add a pop of sweetness and a festive look to any spread.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (use rock candy sugar for extra crunch if available)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • Optional: Extra rock candy crystals or edible glitter for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, water, and lemon juice.
  • Heat: Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved to form a smooth syrup.
  • Cool: Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the syrup cool slightly (it should be warm but not hot).
  • Coat Strawberries: Working one strawberry at a time, dip it into the syrup, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  • Apply Sugar: Immediately roll the syrup-covered strawberry in extra granulated or rock candy sugar until fully coated.
  • Set: Place the coated strawberry on a sheet of parchment paper.

  • Finish: Repeat with the remaining strawberries. Allow the coating to set for about 15–20 minutes before serving

Notes

  • Ensure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping, as moisture can prevent the syrup from adhering properly.
  • The syrup should be warm, not hot, to avoid melting the delicate fruit.
  • Adjust the sugar ratio if a thicker coating is desired, or experiment with edible glitter for a festive finish.

  • Best enjoyed fresh for optimal crunch and flavor.
