Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents are a savory, easy-to-make appetizer or snack, featuring flaky crescent dough filled with a creamy sausage and cream cheese mixture. Perfect for parties or as a quick bite.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 package crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
  • 1/2 lb breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Drain any excess fat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, and shredded cheddar cheese (if using). Mix until smooth and well-combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough and separate the individual triangles. Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each triangle.
  5. Roll up each crescent starting from the wide end, enclosing the filling inside the dough.
  6. Place the crescents on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add herbs like parsley or chives to the sausage mixture.
  • Feel free to use a different type of sausage (e.g., spicy sausage or turkey sausage) to customize the flavor.
  • These can be made ahead and frozen before baking. Just bake directly from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
