A delightful fusion dessert that combines the crisp, buttery texture of a sugar cookie with a luxuriously creamy cheesecake topping. Perfect for parties or a sweet indulgence, these bars offer a balanced blend of crunchy and smooth textures.
– 1 package (16 oz) ready-to-bake sugar cookie dough
– 16 oz cream cheese, softened
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1/4 cup sour cream
– Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
2. Roll out the sugar cookie dough evenly into the pan, pressing it to cover the bottom.
3. Bake the sugar cookie layer for 8-10 minutes until it just begins to set. Remove from the oven.
4. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar until smooth.
5. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and sour cream until well combined.
6. Pour the cheesecake mixture evenly over the pre-baked sugar cookie layer.
7. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the cheesecake layer is set and lightly golden.
8. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. For best results, refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.
Ensure the cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps in the cheesecake mixture. For a firmer texture, chill the bars overnight. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
