A hearty, slow-cooked chicken recipe that melds tender meat with the tangy, smoky flavor of Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce. Perfect for a relaxed family dinner or weekend gathering.

 

Ingredients

– 4 lbs chicken pieces (thighs, drumsticks, or breasts)

– 1 large onion, sliced

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 bottle (18 oz) Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce

– 1 tablespoon smoked paprika

– Salt and pepper, to taste

– Optional: 1 teaspoon liquid smoke for extra depth

Instructions

1. Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.

2. Place the chicken in the crockpot and add the sliced onion and minced garlic.

3. Pour the Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well coated.

4. If using, add liquid smoke to enhance the flavor.

5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours (or on high for 3-4 hours) until the chicken is tender.

6. Optionally, shred the chicken in the crockpot and stir to mix with the sauce before serving.

 

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, sear the chicken in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes per side before placing it in the crockpot. Serve with coleslaw, cornbread, or steamed vegetables.
